XULTech Firelinks is a remote file manager/control panel that lets
you manage your web server using an easy to use GUI interface.
Firelinks uses
Firefox's
XUL
(XML User-interface Language), and Javascript to deliver a web
based application that has the look and feel of a desktop application.
Firelinks operates like a regular desktop file manager.
For example, you can resize and rearrange individual
columns in the file listing table by drag and drop.
Any customization you've made be remembered by the application.

Main Features
-
No client installation required:
The application only needs to be installed once as a CGI application on
your web server. All you need on the client side is a copy of
the world's most popular open source browser:
Firefox.
-
Intuitive and Familiar User Interface:
Firelinks works just like any other desktop based file manager, such as
Microsoft Explorer or KDE Konqueror. The user interface has been
enhanced with extra features such as a web preview panel to make it
more useful for managing web sites.
-
Secure:
Unlike plain FTP where the password is sent in the clear, only the
password hash is sent by Firelinks at login time. You can also configure
Firelinks so that it will only accept connection from a fixed IP address.
For added security you can also run it via SSL if you web server has been
configured to allow SSL connections.
-
Built-in Remote Shell:
Run command line applications and script through Firelinks's built-in
command shell, even if your ISP does not offer your SSH.

What Makes Firelinks Better
-
Smooth User Interface:
Unlike plain web based file managers such as cPanel, Firelinks is based on
XUL,
which
means that it operates more like a standard desktop application.
-
Fast:
Unlike the last generation of web application, Firelinks uses
AJAX so that only the minimum amount of data is transferred between
the server and the browser. There is no page reload after every operation.
This translated into a web file manager that
works fast and smoothly even across a slow dial up connection.
-
Cross Platform:
Firelinks is available for both Linux and Microsoft Windows. Because it is
a normal CGI application it will work for both Apache and Microsoft IIS.
It should also work on any web server that supports CGI.
Because it is web based, you can manage your server using any OS that
supports Firefox.
-
Customizable:
Firelinks can be customized as easily as any desktop application.
Changes you made (such as column size, listing sort order, etc) are
always remembered for the next session.
